The Grayson County Alliance Repair Affair, normally held in May of each year, has changed the date to Saturday, Sept. 6. This change was necessary for several reasons, not the least of which, was a scheduling conflict with “Art in the Park.” Moving the date will allow some of our team members to participate in both of these Grayson County Alliance sponsored activities.
Date and deadlines for applications will be published at a later date.
The Repair Affair in Grayson County will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Over the years, sponsors and teams have provided much-needed repairs for many families living in our community.
One of the basic requirements to qualify for the Repair Affair, other than financial need and owning your own home, is that needed repairs must be able to be completed in one day. Repairs could be, but are not limited to, building ramps for wheel chairs, replacing floors, fixing plumbing problems, weatherizing homes, patching a roof, replacing guttering, etc.
We are always looking for teams and team captains to complete these repairs! Teams can come from churches, organizations, work, or just a group of friends.
