A Chevrolet Z71 was destroyed in a fire on Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25).

At around 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, the Leitchfield Fire Department responded to a call regarding a truck on fire on Conder Road in Leitchfield.

The Chevrolet’s driver, Leron Miller, reported to firefighters that while driving, he noticed smoke coming from either the hood or dash of the truck, First Assistant Leitchfield Fire Chief Tim Duvall said.

Miller then pulled the Chevrolet off to the side of the road before the truck caught fire, according to Duvall.

The blaze took only minutes to extinguish, but the Chevrolet was “a total loss,” Duvall said.

No one was injured as a result of the flame.

Other than this incident, the Christmas holiday week has “been quiet,” Duvall said.
