A Caneyville woman was flown to Louisville for injuries resulting from a car crash on Wednesday morning, July 16.
At around 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Caneyville Volunteer Fire Department, and Grayson County Emergency Medical Services responded to a single-vehicle accident near the 4100 block of Bowling Green Road in Caneyville.
Debra Hanks, 60, of Caneyville, was travelling south on Bowling Green Road when the Ford Taurus she was driving dropped off the outside shoulder of the road, according to responding GCSO Chief Deputy Tony Willen.
Hanks then over-corrected, lost control, and the Ford flipped and came to a rest in a ditch beside the road.
Willen said Hanks was transported from the scene by GCEMS to the Caneyville school, and from there, she was flown to Louisville by emergency helicopter to be treated for accident-related injuries.
GCEMS personnel were performing CPR on Hanks prior to her being flown out by emergency helicopter, Willen said. As of Thursday morning, July 17, the GCSO had received no updates on Hanks' condition.
No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
