A Louisville man was arrested after attempting to flee from Leitchfield police officers on Sunday, July 27.
On Sunday afternoon, the Leitchfield Police Department received a call about a possibly intoxicated individual causing a disturbance at Countryside Inn, located on 315 Commerce Dr. in Leitchfield.
LPD Detective Kevin Smith said that, upon arriving on scene, officers made contact with Christopher Foley, 35, of Louisville.
Upon initial contact, Foley attempted to flee on foot from officers. After Foley ignored officers’ commands, officers deployed a taser on him, Smith said.
Foley was taken into custody and charged, in addition to outstanding warrants from Jefferson County, with Fleeing or Evading Police - 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place, according to Smith.
Foley was thereafter taken to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center to receive medical clearance before being lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
As of press time on Tuesday, July 29, Foley was still lodged in the GCDC on a $10,000 cash bond.
