The Grayson County skate park has been temporarily closed following acts of vandalism that occurred at the park on the night of Tuesday, July 22.
Grayson County Judge-Executive Gary Logsdon said the skate park, located off of Shauna Drive in Leitchfield, will remain closed until the perpetrator(s) of the vandalism at the park are apprehended to prevent further damages.
“We’re closing it for a month [or] until we catch them…or it will only get worse,” Logsdon said.
According to Grayson County Road Crew members, at some point Tuesday night, the person(s) responsible for the vandalism painted graffiti on one of the walls of the skate park; stole a new American flag that had been placed at the park that same day; flipped over all of the park’s benches and tables; and turned over a portable toilet.
Logsdon said security cameras are in place at the skate park, and county officials are currently in the process of reviewing footage recorded during Tuesday night to find out if it will reveal the identities of those responsible for the vandalism.
