Grayson County firefighters are participating in the annual WHAS Crusade for Children fundraiser this weekend.
Personnel from all county fire departments will set up at various roadway intersections through the weekend to accept donations that will benefit Kosair Children’s Hospital and other charities, according to Leitchfield Fire Chief Jerry Schlosser.
Schlosser said despite the weak economy, the fire departments typically see a great deal of community participation during Crusade for Children.
“Even when times are tough, people still find it in their hearts and wallets to help,” he said.
Leitchfield Fire Department personnel set up at the intersections of South Main St. and W. White Oak St., and Mill St. and North Main St., on Friday morning, June 6.
