A Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed through a telephone pole on Lilac Road on Monday, May 5.
At around 12:54 p.m. on Monday, Grayson County Emergency Medical Services and the Leitchfield Fire and Police Departments responded to a report of an injury crash about two miles out Lilac Road.
Investigating LPD Patrolman Greg Whobrey said on the scene that the Jeep appeared to be travelling westbound when it left the roadway and crashed through a Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation (WRECC) telephone pole near 889 Lilac Road.
The male driver, whose name has not yet been released, did not report any injuries as a result of the accident. However, because the driver had recently undergone surgery and has a feeding tube, he was transported from the scene by GC EMS to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center to be examined, Whobrey said.
Leitchfield Chief of Police Kevin Henderson said the LPD set up road blocks on Lilac Road for four to five hours while WRECC technicians repaired the telephone pole.
