Sherry Logsdon (Johnson) held a book signing for her first novel, Asylum, at the Centre on Main in Leitchfield on Friday, March 14.

A Grayson County native who now resides in Eastview, Logsdon successfully released Asylum earlier this year, and the feedback she’s received so far has been positive, especially among children and young adults.

“I’ve had children tell me they’d never read anything, and they like [Asylum],” Logsdon said.

Set in West Virginia in the 1800’s, Asylum depicts the life of a woman locked away in an insane asylum during that time period.

“The kids love it,” Logsdon said.

Since the release of Asylum, Logsdon said one of the greatest reviews she’s received has been, “I can’t put it down.”

That support carried over into the attendance at Logsdon’s recent Leitchfield book signing, which she said far exceeded her expectations.

“They’re all just banking on me getting famous,” said Logsdon with a laugh.

Logsdon said, next, she will be the featured author at the Grayson County Public Library’s tea event on Wednesday, April 16.

Then, in May, Logsdon will sign copies of Asylum at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Elizabethtown. The date for this event has not yet been announced.
