Keith Escue, of Short Creek, has officially announced he will run for the office of Grayson County Sheriff subject to the 2014 Democratic primary election.
“With the help and support of family and friends, I start my campaign and look forward to the road ahead,” said Escue. “I can and I will make a positive difference.”
Escue, a 30-year-old Grayson County High School graduate, has been married to his wife, Stacey, for 11 years, and the couple have three children together, one son, Jaxson, and twin daughters, Gracie and Layla.
“I feel the people of Grayson County deserve a sheriff and deputies who will respect and treat all residents in a fair and impartial manner,” Escue said. “…I want to be more than just a title, I am going to be a working sheriff who is involved with the community”
Escue said he was inspired to run for office by his father, former Grayson County Sheriff Qulin Escue.
“As a young boy, I grew up watching a man wear his uniform proud, not only as sheriff for 17 years, but as my dad,” Keith Escue said.
Previously a manager for Premier Concrete Pumping and currently a crew leader for Reynolds Sealing and Striping Corp., Keith Escue said he feels this leadership experience will serve him well as Grayson County Sheriff.
“As a crew leader, I often ask my crew if they have any suggestions to the situation at hand, taking all aspects of the problem to work better as a team,” he said. “As your sheriff, I would do the same with my deputies.”
Keith Escue said one of his priorities as sheriff, should he win, will be to care for the youth and the elderly of Grayson County.
“As a father myself, I know the importance of teaching the youth morals and how to make the right choices, for the youth and our elderly are our past, present, and future,” Keith Escue said.
“Over the next several months, I will share my vision on what I think would better the sheriff’s department and the people of Grayson County,” he said. “However, listening to the community and voicing your concerns is a major role I will be focusing on throughout my campaign, as well.”
Keith Escue and his family currently attend Smalls Grove Church, located just outside of Caneyville, and Falls of Rough Baptist Church.
“I humbly ask for your vote, support, and most of all your prayers on this journey,” he said. “I look forward to serve and protect you, the people of Grayson County, as your next sheriff.”
