A two-vehicle accident in Big Clifty injured both drivers and sent one to the hospital at around 3:35 p.m. on Thursday, September 26.

Joseph Brock, 38, of Big Clifty, was driving his red 1991 Chevrolet Pickup Truck when he pulled out of Bank Street onto Elizabethtown Road in front of a silver 2006 Ford four-door passenger car, driven by Shannon Simons, 20, of Leitchfield, the responding Grayson County Sheriff’s Office said.

The two vehicles collided, left the the roadway, and came to a rest near 9847 Elizabethtown Road, the GCSO reported.

According to the GCSO, the collision caused Brock to be ejected from the vehicle he was occupying.

Brock was taken by Grayson County Emergency Medical Services to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center for treatment regarding accident-related injuries, the GCSO reported.

Later on Thursday afternoon, Brock was flown to Louisville for further medical attention, according to the GCSO.

Simons received minor injuries as a result of the accident but was not taken to the hospital, the GCSO said.

Neither vehicle had passengers, according to the GCSO.

The Chevrolet was towed from the scene by Terry Brooks, and the Ford, which was registered to Stephanie Murray, of Summit, was towed by private means, the GCSO reported.
