Rough River Dam State Resort Park will begin its free live music “Concert in the Park” series this month.
Kicking off on Friday, May 23, the series will host a number of bands and solo musicians who will play a variety of music ranging from country, oldies, blues and southern rock, to pop, acoustic, rock, and funk.
Performances will be held each Friday evening between May 23 and September 6 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Visitors can hang out on the lawn behind Rough River State Resort Park’s lodge or dine on the patio as they enjoy the live music.
Boaters will also be able to take in the performances from the water behind the lodge.
Mary Salmon, with Rough River Dam State Resort Park, said, “We have received great feedback about this series, and really feel like it is going to be a very popular attraction for the area.”
Salmon went on to say, “With new outdoor dining and outdoor grill menu, courtesy docks, and public seating for the concerts, ti is sure to be a big hit.”
The park is able to keep the concert series free and open to the public by enlisting sponsors for each of the events. If you or your business is interested in becoming a sponsor, or you would like additional information about the concert series, contact the lodge at 270-259-2311.
