A Caneyville woman was injured in a near hit-and-run accident on Windy Ridge Road on Thursday, Jan. 23.
According to a report filed by Deputy Buck Meredith with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department, 18-year-old Diedra Webb and her 3-month-old passenger were travelling north on Windy Mill Road at just after 6 p.m. when the incident occurred.
Webb told Meredith that she met a south-bound passenger car and was forced to turn right in order to avoid a collision with the other vehicle. The 1998 Ford ZX2 which Webb was operating exited the roadway on the right side and went into a ditch, overturning multiple times before coming to a rest on its top.
The southbound vehicle did not stop and has not been located, according to the report.
Webb suffered leg injuries for which she was treated at the scene by Grayson County EMS. She was transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Room for further treatment.
The infant travelling with Webb was uninjured.
