Officer injured

A Pittsfield police officer was injured Tuesday in a two-car accident in the city, according to authorities.

Patrolman Darrold W. Frisbie, 60, was in a marked patrol car and going through a public alley behind Heaton Chevrolet in the 100 block of West Adams Street. A vehicle being driven by Amber Johnson, 23, of Pittsfield collided with the patrol car in the alley and the impact of the crash pushed the patrolman’s vehicle into a nearby building, according to authorities.

Frisbie was treated at Illini Community Hospital.

Johnson was cited on charges of operating an uninsured motor vehicle and having no registration.

Frisbie was on routine patrol and not responding to a call, according to the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.
