Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center is proud to announce that they still hold the top rating in patient safety.
For the fifth year, TLRMC received an “A” grade in the Hospital Safety Score handed down by the independent industry watchdog The Leapfrog Group.
According to a recent press release from TLRMC’s Director of Planning and Marketing, Bill Oldham, “the hospital is one of only 251 hospitals in the nation to have earned at “A” in all 5 score releases.”
The medical center’s CEO Wayne Meriwether said, “Receiving The Leapfrog Group’s top safety rating five consecutive times is a tribute to our employees and physicians for the excellent care they provide to our patients. It is my hope that when anyone in our community has to be hospitalized that they can rest a little easier knowing they will be receiving the absolutely best care possible.”
Within the state of Kentucky, only 11 hospitals received an A, while 38 were awarded lower grades.
Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group, said, “No hospital is perfect, but we congratulate the board of directors, physicians and providers, administration, and staff of Twin Lakes for achieving an “A” and showing us that they made the well-being of their patients a top priority.”
The scoring system was carried out by experts on patient safety, and used 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety date to arrive at each hospital’s final score, which reflects the “overall capacity to keep patients safe from preventable harm,” according to Oldham.
