A Clarkson man was arrested for allegedly stealing a truck and crashing it in Leitchfield on Monday afternoon, Aug. 14.

At approximately 3:03 p.m. on Monday, the Leitchfield Police Department (LPD) responded to a report of a vehicle stolen from Dollar General on Elizabethtown Road.

Police were advised that the subject who stole the vehicle, a Ford F150, had also wrecked it near the entrance to Oak Wood Lane and fled the scene, according to LPD Detective Kevin Smith.

After investigation, the LPD arrested Leslie T. Neighbors, 26, of Clarkson, and charged him with Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition Auto – $500 or More but Under $10,000; and Leaving the Scene of an Accident – Failure to Render Aid or Assistance.

He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

The Ford was disabled due to the crash and removed from the scene by a towing service.
