The Leitchfield Tourism Commission welcomed a new member and bid farewell to an original member during its Tuesday, June 27 meeting.
Recently appointed Leitchfield Tourism Commissioner Anthony Miller attended his first meeting on Tuesday, and was welcomed at the opening of the meeting by Leitchfield Tourism Director Ilsa Johnson.
Earlier this month, the Leitchfield City Council appointed Miller and reappointed Joyce Mudd to serve on the Tourism Commission for three-year terms.
Miller fills a previously vacated seat on the Tourism Commission, but the new addition was not the only change recognized on Tuesday.
Tourism Commissioner Randy Pauley, who served on the Commission from July of 2011 until this week, has resigned from the Tourism Commission because he is now a resident of Breckinridge County.
“This has been a wonderful commission to serve on,” Pauley said. “I’m proud to be a part of it.”
Pauley’s term was set to expire in July of 2018, and several individuals have already submitted their names to be considered to finish the term.
Those individuals include Wes Basham, Jessica Embry, James Houchins, Jennifer Newton, Stephen Smith, and Carla Winn.
Pauley said he looks to continue public service in Breckinridge County, possibly in groups such as the Friends of Rough River Lake.
