A McDaniels man was killed when a bulldozer ran over him in Falls of Rough on Friday, Aug. 12.
Sometime between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Friday, James August “Augie” Henning, 64, of McDaniels, was standing behind a trailer in a field off of Kentucky Highways 110 and 79 in Falls of Rough, according to Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins.
At some point, a dozer, located on the trailer and set in neutral, came off the trailer and rolled over Henning, said Chaffins.
The accident was discovered by the owner of the farm on which it took place around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, according to Deputy Grayson County Coroner Larry Holeman.
Henning, who was last seen alive around 4:00 p.m. on Friday, was pronounced dead at the scene by Holeman at 6:45 p.m.
Holeman said Henning’s official cause of death was ruled “multiple blunt force trauma” caused by the track of the bulldozer.
The accident is currently still under investigation by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), but no foul play is suspected, Chaffins said.
The GCSO and Grayson County Coroner’s Office were assisted on the scene by the Falls of Rough Volunteer Fire Department and Grayson County Emergency Medical Services, according to Chaffins.
