A Millerstown Road accident involving a motorcycle injured one man last week.
According to an accident report filed by Deputy Bryan Hammons, with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department, 52-year-old Jesse F. Burton, of Eastview, was travelling east on Millerstown Road (Hwy 224) on a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle at the time of the accident.
Burton had one passenger on his motorcycle, 48-year-old Barbara Burton, also of Eastview.
Burton told Hammons that as he prepared to cross the bridge, he saw a red car waiting to turn left off of the Western KY Parkway ramp. As the car edged up toward the road, Burton said that he applied his brakes, unsure if the car was going to pull out in front of him.
Both Jesse and Barbara Burton were ejected from the motorcycle. Neither were wearing a helmet at the time.
Jesse Burton suffered multiple non-incapacitating injuries and was treated at the scene by Grayson County EMS before being transported by ambulance to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Room for further treatment of his injuries.
Barbara Burton sustained no injuries, according to the report.
Hammons said, “There is a history of accidents at this location due to it being hard to see if traffic is coming over the bridge on KY 224.”
