Teacher charged; accused of inappropriate comment to student

Authorities are continuing the investigation into a March 27 incident that led to the arrest Wednesday of a Jacksonville High School teacher.

John P. Lawless, 43, of 16 Drake Road was booked into the Morgan County Jail about noon Wednesday on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Lawless, who is a Jacksonville High School teacher, is accused of making inappropriate comments to a female student at the school, according to the police department.
