The Leitchfield City Council recently approved a reduction in the price of loading compost.
During the regularly scheduled Monday, March 17 City Council meeting, Leitchfield Public Works Director Sheila Puckett said the City has traditionally charged $10 to load compost - the compost itself is given at no charge.
Due to an excess amount of compost, however, Puckett recommended that the City either reduce the loading charge to $5 or load the compost for free.
The Council passed a motion to reduce the City’s compost loading fee to $5.
Compost can be collected at Leitchfield’s solid waste transfer station, located at 510 South English Street. The transfer station is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and may be contacted by phone at 270-259-6363.
