A recent Peonia Road theft is being investigated and officers are warning county residents to beware of an upsurge in local robberies.

A 2007 Honda Fourtrax and a Cub Cadet riding lawnmower were stolen from an outbuilding at Doris Brown’s residence at 418 Peonia Road during the week of Feb. 24.

Sheriff Rick Clemons said that his office is looking into the theft, and hopes that anyone who might have helpful information regarding the incident will contact the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office by calling 270-259-3024 or their anonymous tip line 270-200-2222.

“We need the public’s help in finding the perpetrator,” Clemons said.

He explained that area residents should “be very cautious,” because he and his deputies have seen an increase in recent thefts such as this one.

“We want to let people know to not only watch their properties, but to watch their neighbors properties as well,” Clemons said. He urged county residents to “take care of each other,” and to report any suspicious activity to authorities.
