The Grayson County Clerk’s Office has recently handed over more than $39,000 to the Fiscal Court, according to County Clerk Sherry Weedman.
Weedman explained that the office brought in more funds than expected during the last fiscal year, and is required by Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS) to give those excess funds to the county rather than keeping them for use within their office.
She said that when each year’s budget is set, “it is all a ‘guestimation.’ There is no way to know how many cars will sell or anything else.”
Last year’s estimate for the office’s budget was $130,010, but at the end of the year, the office had brought in $169,238.12.
“We’re happy with that turnover,” said Weedman.
