Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana (BBBSKY) kicked off their biggest annual fundraiser with the Grayson County Bowl for Kids’ Sake event at Rainbow Lanes in Leitchfield on Saturday, Feb. 15.
Local teams participated in raising funds for the youth mentoring organization and celebrated with a day of fun and games that included bowling, pizza and even a few performances by an Elvis impersonator.
BBBSKY’s Community Engagement Branch Manager Kevin Clark said that the local event raised approximately $10,000 which will be used to create and sustain mentoring matches within Grayson County during the upcoming year.
“It went really well,” Clark said, “It was definitely a positive step. It started off our whole season.”
Clark said that participants really enjoyed this year’s Bowl for Kids’ Sake, and he will continue to use the contests and activities from the local event as the organization conducts similar bowling events throughout the region in the coming months.
