Jennifer Henderson said she hopes her new business, Twin Lakes Gymnastics, will provide a safe and healthy alternative for Grayson County youths.

“I want to have something for kids to do,” Henderson said. “Kids want to feel like they belong somewhere. I want to give them a place where they can learn structure, discipline, and confidence.”

A former University of Kentucky competitive cheerleader, Henderson said she has dreamed of opening her own gym since her mother first took her to one as a child.

“It’s really awesome to see your dream come true,” she said. “It started with one kid and grew from there.”

Twin Lakes Gymnastics started when a friend asked Henderson to teach her daughter gymnastics.

Over time, Henderson said she started teaching more children and decided to open her own gym, Twin Lakes Gymnastics, for which she held the official ribbon-cutting and grand opening on Monday, December 30.

Twin Lakes Gymnastics offers pre-school classes for toddlers; beginners’ gymnastics; tumbling; cheer-nastics to prepare for cheerleading; and a competitive cheer squad and gymnastics team.

“I want to build a good athletic program,” Henderson said.

Twin Lakes Gymnastics also offers open gym every Friday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for $5 and is available to be rented out for birthday parties.

Twin Lakes Gymnastics is located at 90 Blair Drive in Clarkson. For more information, call 270-589-1444 or visit www.twinlakesgymnastics.com.
