Leitchfield teen arrested for Friday morning stabbing

Charges may be pending against a Grayson County teenager who reportedly stabbed a woman during a Friday morning altercation.


18-year-old Brittany Nicole Geary was arrested at Cave Mill Apartments, 400 Sunsrise Drive in Leitchfield and charged with assault in the second degree, according to a news release by Leitchfield Police Department.


According to the release, LPD, along with Grayson County EMS, responded to the apartment building at 2:11 a.m. on January 3.


“Based upon information obtained during the investigation, a physical altercation had occurred in a residence and during the altercation, Lillian D. King, 21, of Leitchfield was stabbed in the leg with a knife,” the report read.


Geary was transported to the Grayson County Detention Center following her arrest, and was still lodged at the facility as of press time.


King was treated at the scene by GCEMS paramedics and transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries to her leg. The injuries were non-life-threatening, and she was released from TLRMC later that day, according to the LPD release.


The case is currently under investigation by Detective Kevin Smith, with LPD, and additional charges may be pending.
