Maxton Cummings won the Boy's 18u and competed in the Men's Open at the Bowling Green Open.

Two young men on the Grayson County Cougars tennis team recently showed off their skills at two different tournaments.

Owen Brown, eighth grader for GCHS playing on the USTA summer Tournament Circuit, won the consolation round at the Louisville Tennis Club.

Brown's first match was against Gabriel Smith, scoring 3-6, 2-6.

His second match was against Liam Patel, scoring 8-3.

Brown's third match was against Landon Hodges, scoring 8-6.

Maxton Cummings played in the Bowling Green Open, competing in the Men's Singles and winning the Boy's 18u.

His scores for the Boy's 18u were as follows:

First round against Christopher French, 6-0, 6-1.

Quarterfinals against Joseph Coffey, 6-2, 6-0.

Semi-finals against Camben Carver, 6-1, 6-1.

Finals against Matthew Thomas, 6-3, 6-4.

Cummings' scores in the Men's Open were as follows:

First round against Hamza Sheikh 6-4, 6-4.

Quarter finals against Wade Stone 7-5, 2-6, 10-8.

Semi-finals against Lonnie Barrett 7-6, (7-5), and 6,0.
