The men's and women's tennis team competed in the 3rd Regional Tournament on Monday, May 7.

The players representing the Grayson County men's team:

Singles

Maxton cummings, 9th grade

Owen Brown, 7th grade

Doubles

Lincoln Nichols, 11th grade and Grant Manion, 9th grade

Miles Hornbeck, 9th grade and Spencer Cannon, 10th grade

Alternates

Nathan Mattingly, 12 grade

Dimitri Cayro, 11th grade

Grace Gorby, 12th grade

Macenzie Edwards, 12th grade

Kandler Lindsey, 10th grade and Kourtnee Hayes, 12th grade

Coach Vincent said, "Both teams were highly respected in 3rd region play as both squads strive to be regional contenders every year."

The Lady Cougars finished as the runner-up team, and Grace Gorby won her 4th regional singles title.

Grace Gorby also earned the Luke Woodward Outstanding 3rd Region Female Player Award.

For the 2018 3rd Region Tournament Varsity Girl's Singles, Grace Gorby ranked 1 out of 32 and Mackenzie Edwards ranked 5 out of 32.

For the 2018 3rd Region Tournament Varsity Girl's Doubles, Kandler Lindsey and Kourtnee Hayes ranked 3 out of 32.

The Cougars finished in third place and were one point away from being runner-up versus Meade County.

For the 2018 3rd Region Tournament Varsity Boy's Singles, Maxton Cummings ranked 4 out of 32.
