The Friends of Nolin Lake teamed up with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and ECTC Fishing Club to hold Family Fest at Moutardier Pavilion on Saturday.

The event offered enough free hamburgers and hotdogs to feed 200 people, along with chips, drinks and Kona Ice.

Participants enjoyed cornhole, water balloons, bounce houses and a temporary tattoo station.

The Corps also had a station set up for people to try on life jackets to find their correct size and discuss water and boating safety.

Additionally, the Friends of Nolin held a raffle, giving away a kayak, tickets to Newport Aquarium, tickets to the Creation Museum, a lifejacket for kids and a throwable floatation device for a boat.

Attendees Mason Hester and Makayla Moore said their favorite part of Family Fest was the giant inflatable slide, which seemed to be a favorite for all of the children.

The Friends of Nolin's next event, Nolin Fest, will take place on Aug. 11. It is expected to be a big event full of fun and ending with fireworks.
