The Leitchfield City Council on Monday night, March 5, approved the rental agreement for the fields at the new Leitchfield baseball complex and Thomason-Allen Softball Complex.

Leitchfield Parks and Recreation Director Greg Hudson presented the finalized rental agreement to the City Council during its regular meeting for approval.

The field rental for the Thomason-Allen Softball Complex will be $150 per field, per day, and rental starts at 7 a.m. daily and runs for a 24-hour period.

For the new baseball complex, the field rental fee will be $200 per field, per day, and the same hours apply.

Use of the field(s) after the 24-hour period will constitute another day of use, and additional charges will apply.

Park staff will ensure the fields are ready for play at the start of the rental agreement, and the renter will be responsible for preparation of the field(s) during the rental period.

The concession stand is not permitted to be used under the agreement.

A damage/clean-up fee deposit of $100 will be required, and this must be paid 14 days in advance of the event, as well as 50 percent of the rental fee. The final 50 percent of the rental fee must be paid five days prior to the event.

A checklist will be included with the rental form advising renters of clean-up recommendations to ensure they recoup their deposit.

Following Hudson's presentation, the City Council voted to approve it. For more information, call Leitchfield City Hall at 270-259-4034.
