The tractor had a wood splitter attachment on the back, which went through Baker’s windshield and peeled back the roof of the car.

Early last week, a white Ford Taurus, driven by Deborah Baker, 58, of Hudson, KY, was going northbound on HWY 259 when it rear-ended a John Deere tractor, driven by Jimmie Smith, of Leitchfield.

The tractor had a wood splitter attachment on the back, which went through Baker's windshield and peeled back the roof of the car.

According to Grayson County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Clay Boone, Baker was taken by EMS to the Leitchfield Fire Department's training area, and, from there, she was airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital due to her injuries.

Sgt. Boone said Baker has passed away due to the injuries she sustained from this accident.
