A Caneyville man accused of numerous child pornography charges and 23 others were indicted by the Grayson County Grand Jury during their April meeting on April 9.

49-year-old Jeffrey D. Elmore, of Caneyville, was indicted on eight counts of Promoting a Minor Under 16 in Sex Performance and six counts of Possession or Viewing of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor.

These charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred between Dec. 1, 2017 and Jan. 9, 2018, and he was arrested on Jan. 9 by the Kentucky State Police (KSP) in relation to them.

Elmore's arrest was the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation, according to KSP Trooper Jeff Gregory.

KSP Post 4 began the investigation after discovering that Elmore had allegedly uploaded images of child sexual exploitation online, according to a KSP news release.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Caneyville on Jan. 9, and equipment used to facilitate the alleged crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination, Gregory said.

Promoting a Minor Under 16 in Sex Performance is a Class B felony punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison.
